The hotel is set in a beautiful old building with plenty of character, surrounded by lovely hiking trails. When I arrived, I asked if I could have a water bottle because I had forgotten mine and was heading out for a hike. The staff member was happy to help, which I appreciated. The staff I encountered the following day were less welcoming and helpful. The room felt a bit dated. The furniture and curtains looked like they hadn’t been updated in decades, and the mattress showed signs of heavy use. The building’s age also means the walls are quite thin, so noise travels easily. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, and during my stay the sauna was out of order. Rooms are cleaned only on request, which also means coffee, tea, and toilet paper are only replenished if you ask. Overall, the hotel has a lot of charm and is beautifully situated, but the level of comfort and service is not what I’d expect from a four star hotel.

First off, I expected a lot more from this place. It is dubbed as a "luxury" houseboat, but it had very little hospitality. There was a "welcome bag" in the kitchen with 1 roll of toilet paper (why not just put it in the bathroom??), some cleaning cloths, enough coffee for 2 cups, a tiny pouch of soap for one shower and some trash bags. The bed linens aren't even put on the beds; we had to do it ourselves! No towels either. We were expected to take out the trash, too. The price was waaaay too high to not include anything. I would be fine with that IF it was half the price. The beds were also pretty hard and not very comfortable. The boat gets very hot in the sun, but if you open the doors, it cools down quick. The place is about a 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot. I expected it to be a little less of a walk. They did send very nice detailed directions with photos. The pictures were a really good touch and definitely helped find it. Overall, I liked the novelty of it, but I didn't like the price for what you get.
